        Hi All,
Ive just been into the gargae and decided to check my wormery, set up in November, to see if it had thawed out.
To my surpise there were 3 worms on top of the frozen surface of the shredded paper and tealeaf food stuff.
Ive added scrunched up newspaper to try and keep them warmer but can anyone tell me how best to keep them alive in the sub zero teperature we are having.

        Regards.

        Tony.

My wormery (bin) is in the shed wrapped up in a couple of old curtains and has stood up to the cold up until the more recent nights when the temp has nudged double-figures below when some ice has started to form. I just put a tea light in on the top now at night, gives off just enough heat to stop it freezing!

Left a 1/2 kilo of dendras in the car overnight 3 weeks ago. The next day they were solid, just a block of ice. To cut a long story short I took them home and left them in the carryall in my study where I keep my gear. As the dustmen are coming tomorrow and attracted by a slight smell I opened them up. They were all alive though in desperate need of a drink and some food. Done that now and they should be good for next Sunday’s match.

The smell was my bread punch crumb that had gone green!
