THOUSANDS of pounds of Lottery Grants could soon be landed by angling clubs … thanks to eight NFA Regional Seminars designed to assist clubs to attract external funding.

So far the NFA presentation team, comprising of Membership Services Manager Bob Clark and Club Development Officer, John Mitchell, have travelled to Bolton and Wakefield and the mood of the club representatives has been upbeat.
Bob Clark says: “The response to the practical workshops has been fantastic. The objective is to explain what funding is available and then show the key players how to apply for it. So far every participant has left the seminar full of enthusiasm and with the tools to claim their own grant.”

Several NFA clubs have already received an ‘Awards for All’ Lottery Grant (Worksop & District have received two) with funding up to £5,000. Lincoln and District AA and the NFA’s North East Region, who applied for funding for coaching activities, have also been successful.

The seminars are being held in the conference room at regional Holiday Inn hotels and several of the workshops are already oversubscribed Bob Clark commented: “We are delighted with the response from our clubs. Clearly we need to focus on external funding and support for our members. Many clubs have activities that qualify for a grant but they need help with completing the form. The seminars have been a huge success and we will arrange to host more if our clubs request them”
