Top Midlands open match angler Grant Albutt is taking on the running of one of the best waters in the region in Shatterford Lakes.

The six-lake venue, which was established in 1972, is situated in a valley on the Bridgnorth Road only 10 minutes from Kidderminster and Stourbridge and is noted for offering great sport all year round.

Due to the great depth of the lakes, the fish keep feeding through the winter, and in the warmer months big fish anglers flock there to target catfish and carp. Grant, who lists the £25,000 Parkdean final and the UK Champs among his many big match wins, said: “Shatterford is a breathtakingly beautiful place that is absolutely stuffed with fish. One of the things that I love the most about it is the fact that it is so diverse – it contains a large head of specimen carp to over 40lb, some giant catfish, and specimen roach and bream. There is also a shop on site, and a luxury house which will be turned into holiday accommodation.”
