THE owners of Essex venue Crowsheath Fishery have decide that the only way they are going to get people onto their banks while the World Cup is on is to show every game in their clubhouse.
So they are getting a 60 inch TV screen and mega sound system so anglers can enjoy the game with a pint after they’ve dropped their tackle at their chosen peg.
Gary Norton, who runs the match and carp lakes, says that international matches kill angling stone dead as anglers choose to stay at home or go down the boozer rather than onto the bankside.
So he’s adopting a ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ attitude and has secured a special licence to serve alcohol while he screens the morning games at the Hanningfield water.
Gary (28) said they will also be serving breakfasts. More on 01702 200847.
