Just because everywhere has been frozen over in Ireland it does not mean you can’t catch fish.

Angling guide Ian Kitson spent 20 minutes breaking the ice at venue just off the Woodford River near his home in Ballinamore, County Leitrim to create a small fishing area and was rewarded with over 190 fish, mostly roach, and a great day’s sport.

Ian, who is organising a new Killeshandra Festival in May, fished a 4m whip to hand with a half gram float fishing red maggots and feeding Sensas ‘Black’ groundbait.

Ian stars in a new two-part guide to making the most of the great fishing in the Leitrim area which you will find on Internet based angling TV channel www.OnlineFishing.tv .
