An Angler’s Mail legend has died, bringing tributes from anyone with an interest in the angling media.

John Ingham, who passed away peacefully aged 88, relaunched Angler’s Mail way back in 1966, taking it from an obscure weekly to a national success.
The transformation also inspired other journalists, and British angling publications in general.
And even after he retired after a long innings as editor and publisher, John carried on as a journalist, filing a weekly angling column for Sunday paper, The People.
This fishing column ran continuously for 55 years – surely a record for any columnist in our sport…ever.
Angler’s Mail pays tribute to this true angling legend – both in print, and on the www.anglersmail.co.uk website.
