Wednesday August 22nd
Warwickshire Avon – Evesham Town Waters and Hampton Ferry
50 pegs

Seventy three year old Geoff Ife from Bewdley saw off strong competition to win the first ever Veterans Championship with 18-14-8 from Peg at the top end of the Town Waters.

On a river carrying a few inches of extra coloured water Geoff started off by catching small perch and roach on stick float and maggot. Bites dried up after two hours so he switched to a blockend feeder with pellets to take two barbel, the best a whopping 11-13-0!
