Signs that things are warming up come when catfish start feeding and the first of Shatterford Fisheries’ big ‘moggies’ has been landed in the shape of a beauty which bottomed out 60lb scales to Sam Radnor, who fished luncheon meat from peg 15 on Masters Lake.

Sam later looked at pictures of the fishery record 70-pounder caught in 2011 and felt it could well have been the same fish – so it’s more than possible that he returned a catfish that could have broken the venue record.
