REPORT

MOLANDS Sport picked up a bit this week with top weights over 100lb in matches but the fishing is still a little patchy. Up in the water fishing with long pole and pellet shallow or pellet waggler has accounted for the better catches. Pellet/method feeder is also working on some areas and this is picking up the bigger carp with fish to over 15lb weighed in this week. Top pegs 2, 12, 17, 25 – 29, 40, 43 – 46 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS As the week went on the fishing got better with pleasure anglers reporting catches of carp to 100lb. On some pegs chucking a feeder to the middle stump or against an island feature has been the best tactic. On other pegs, fishing down the margin with corn, big expanders and worm over ground bait. Top pegs are 7, 12 – 20, 27, 31 – 33 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS This pool has been in the best form of the year so far with match weights to over 80lb and anglers on pleasure sessions enjoying even bigger bags. The best tactic has to be shallow pole and pellet which is working all around the pool at the moment. Variations on the shallow tactics such as pellet waggler and candle have also been providing plenty of fish. Later in the day, down the edge fishing can be very good as well. Top pegs 7 – 17 and 25 – 29.

GRATUITIES It has been a little bit slower on Grats this week with the bigger carp not showing in numbers. Small carp and tench are providing the best of the action with pole fished pellet, corn or meat fished down the margins the best tactic. Top pegs 1 – 4, 8, 9 and 15.

WILLOW Fishing a pellet or method feeder tight to the island with small pieces of meat or pellet has been the best approach on Willow catching plenty of F1’s and small carp. The bigger carp patrol the margins and later in the day fish to double figures are being caught on corn or meat fished really close in and the best pegs are 1, 5, 7, 11 – 13.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end pegs from 1 – 9 is still the most consistent area with good mixed nets of small carp, F1’s, skimmers and roach showing. Float fished maggot, caster or expander pellet fished over micros is the top tactic.
