 REPORT

MOLANDS   Fishing really well at the moment with lots of F1’s and carp being caught on shallow tactics.  Long pole with pellet or pellet waggler has been the way with nets to over 100lb coming to this in matches.  Pellet feeder with white boilies, meat or dead maggot has also accounted for big nets of fish.  Carp to 15lb, F1’s to 5lb, bream to 4lb and tench to 6lb have featured in catches.  Best pegs 2 – 6, 12 – 19, 25, 27, 43 – 48 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS   The cooler nights have slowed sport a little with nets to over 50lb winning matches.  Carp up to 15lb have shown along with plenty of skimmers, roach and brown gold fish.  Straight lead and 6mm pellet, paste down the margins or expander pellet fished on a short line have all accounted for decent nets last week.  Best pegs are 6, 13, 19 – 24, 29 – 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   Fishing has been superb on Little Gearys with F1’s showing all around the pool and carp, decent skimmers and tench also showing in numbers.  The top tactics are either long pole and pellet fished shallow or pellet fished close in to the margins.  Match catches to over 100lb with lots of 50lb+ catches reported and pleasure anglers reporting catches larger than this.  Best pegs are 15 – 21 but every peg is capable of producing good sport at the moment.

GRATUITIES   Good nets of carp coming with the end pegs producing the better catches fishing down the margins with corn, punched bread or pellet.  Carp to double figures and an increasing number of tench are being caught.  Along the straight banks pole fished caster or expander pellet is producing mixed nets of crucians, skimmers and tench.

ANNIVERSARIES   Fishing well for mixed nets of crucians, F1’s, small carp, tench and a few barbel.  The early pegs have been producing the better catches with pole fished caster or pellet and a small feeder fished to the far bank both accounting for nets to over 50lb.  A few bigger carp were caught on floating baits with bread or dog biscuit accounting for carp to 17lb.

WILLOW   Pellet feeder fished tight up to the island is giving the results with lots of carp from 1 – 4lb and F1’s coming to this.  The bigger carp are tending to be caught down the near margins with corn over pellet accounting for fish to 14lb.  Top pegs 1 – 3, 5 and 6 and 11.

REEDY BAY/FIRST BAY/CRESCENT/ALDER   Children have caught lots of fish in these small pools with F1’s, small carp, roach and rudd always obliging.  Float fished maggot or corn has given anglers lots of bites with action all day long.  The bigger carp are coming out of Crescent with fish into double figures caught this week.
