THE FISHERY IS NOW IN TIER 4 WHICH MEANS THAT MATCHES ARE NOT ALLOWED AND WE WILL BE OPEN FOR PLEASURE ANGLING ONLY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The pools have been frozen for much of the last week but pleasure anglers have been fishing after breaking ice. Little Gearys has been the most popular pool with anglers catching nets to 70lb + on pole fished maggot or expander pellet fished from 5-10metres out and the far bank from pegs 7-15 has been the best area. Molands has seen more areas that haven’t been frozen with the aerators keeping some clear. Nets to around 25lb of f1s and silvers have been best with a small groundbait feeder or pole and maggot working best. On Grats, dobbing bread along the margins has worked for carp to double figures and there have been silvers to be caught on pinkies or maggot.

During the cold weather it will pay to ring the lodge on 01676523833 to find out if the lakes are frozen
