REPORT

MOLANDS   Fished well through the week but was more difficult by the weekend.  Skimmers and F1’s have made up the bulk of catches particularly on pole and pellet or paste fished close in down the near margin.  Carp catches have been quite localised with pegs 17 – 21, 29 – 31 and 43 – 46 producing the bigger fish and better catches with fish to 13lb coming to the method or pellet feeder fished across to the island with expander pellet or meat on the hook.

GEARYS    Carp to 17lb 10oz reported this week by pleasure anglers who have enjoyed the best of the action when fishing into the evenings.  Floating baits are accounting for the bigger fish but lots of fish in the 4 – 8lb bracket coming to the straight lead and pellet fished at 20 – 30 metres.  The skimmers are showing better along the high bank with fish to 3lb being caught on pole and pellet or paste.

LITTLE GEARYS   For consistent sport Little Gearys is the top pool at the moment with F1’s from 1 – 4lb, skimmers, roach, crucians and carp being caught on all areas responding to shallow tactics with 4mm banded hard pellet catching lots of fish.  Method feeder tight up to the island with polony, pellet or punched bread is another tactic scoring well at the moment.  Best pegs 7 – 13, 19 – 21 and 25 – 27.

GRATUITIES   Fishing a little harder this week with the carp slowing down and it has been mainly tench and crucians making up the catches.  Pole fished paste or pellet close in is working well with pegs 1, 2, 9, 15 and 16 the better pegs.

ANNIVERSARIES   In good form with mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, roach, tench and carp coming out.  Float fished pellet or corn are accounting for the better fish with caster or maggot giving lots of fish.  The bigger carp are being caught from pegs 1, 2, 17, 22 and 23 fishing under the overhanging bushes with meat, corn or boilies with fish to over 18lb being caught this week.

WILLOW   Carp to 13lb coming to meat, boilies or paste fished either on a feeder to the island or down the near margin.  Lots of crucians, skimmers and roach coming to the maggot or small expander pellet fished down the middle of the pool.  Best pegs are
1, 4 – 7 and 11 – 13.
