FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 26/6/11

Last week 122 rods caught 284 fish for an average of 2.33.

For the end of June the fishery is still in good form with the cooler overcast days during the week seeing most anglers catching.

The best fish of the week was a 7lb rainbow caught by Richard Roper of Halesowen who was fishing a sight indicator from the bank of Cocks Close and took it on a black Buzzer along with four other fish.  There have been a lot of fish in the 3 – 5lb bracket caught this week.  Andrew Moulder of Dorridge took one at 5lb in a six fish catch from the Great Pool and these all came to a Damsel Nymph.  Paul Reay fished a small green Buzzer on a floating line whilst fishing from the bank on Cocks Close and he caught five fish to 4lb 8oz.  Gary Cooper of Sutton Coldfield caught four fish to 4lb on small black Lures from a boat on the Park Meadow pool.

Best flies are Damsel Nymph, black, olive or red Buzzer, Hares Ear, Emerger, GRHE Nymph, pearly P T Nymph, suspender Buzzer and Hoppers.

The wires bank and lodge corner are the best spots on Cocks Close with the deeper water nearer the dams best on Great Pool, Hall Pool and Park Meadow.
