REPORT

MOLANDS   With night frost and cold easterly winds the fishing was a little and down the last week.  On the better days, F1’s to 6lb and carp to double figures have made up the better catches with match weights to over 90lb caught this week.  Pellet waggler or down the margins with maggot, caster or pellet are the top tactics with the fish coming really close in at the moment.  Top pegs 2, 4, 9, 12, 13, 21, 27, 31, 41, 44 – 48 and

54 – 60.

GEARYS   Like all the pools the cold weather has affected the sport on big Gearys with some areas quite difficult.  The most consistent area has been the high bank with good mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, tench and small carp being caught on pole and pellet or worm and caster.  A method feeder fished to the middle stumps has accounted for the bigger nets of carp with fish to 17lb featuring in nets to 100lb+.

LITTLE GEARYS   As always Little Gearys has been the most consistent pool on the fishery with nets of F1’s, carp, skimmers and crucians being caught from all around the pool.  The real hotspots have been where the wind has been blowing into with 3 – 9 the top pegs this week.  Shallow pole and pellet or down the margins with corn, pellet and dead maggot have been the best baits.

GRATUITIES   The corner pegs have been producing good nets of carp with tench and big skimmers also showing, fishing with meat or caster right down the margin.  On the straights, pellet feeder fished tight up to the island with punched bread or polony are the tactics which have been working best.

WILLOW   Pellet waggler or pellet feeder fished tight to the island is working well for carp from 2 – 4lb and F1’s.  Later in the day down the margins with corn, pellet or caster fished over ground bait is accounting for good nets including carp to 15lb.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut).  Carp, F1’s and tench are providing the best sport with long pole and pellet accounting for the better catches.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe).   Short pole with pellet or maggot fished over micros is catching lots of F1’s with the odd tench and carp.

ANNIVERSARIES   The fish are starting to spread out with F1’s showing all around the pool.  Paste fished pellet or punched bread is working best with pleasure anglers catching nets to 80lb+.
