Last week 121 rods caught 286 fish for an average of 2.35

The fishing was a liltle harder this week although there were some cracking fish caught with the boat anglers enjoying the best success.Black ,red or olive Buzzer, Goldhead Damsel Nymph, bloodworm,GRHE. sunken Daddies and Cats Whisker were the pick of the flies with floating lines working best on the duller days but sinking lines better during the brighter spells.

The best fish of the week was a 14lb rainbow caught R Harris of Nuneaton who was fishing on the Great pool and he took it on a buzzer fished on a floating line.Arthur Topp  of stretton on dunsmore took a 12-8 rainbow on a white  minkie fished on a sinking line whilst fishing from a boat on cocks close.Mike Toth of Warwick caught an 11lb fish again from a boat on cocks close and this one fell to a cats whisker fished on a floating R Shore of Bham caught 6 fish from cocks close including one at 10-10 which all came to sunken daddies.

The ongoing works at Hall Pool have been completed  and the lake is now filling with water which should take a further week or so with a little luck the pool will be back in operation towards the end of october .  The work includes repairing the hole in the dam wall and de-silting large areas of the lake.  This should improve the quality of the fishing on offer at Hall Pool.

Cocks Close opens at 8am and closes at dusk.
