REPORT

MOLANDS Still fishing very patchy but if you are on the fish it can be really good. Match weights to around 60lb have been best with F1s providing the main action but carp to double figures have also featured in nets. Maggot is the top bait, either fished on the pole long or in a maggot feeder fished three quarters way across. Best pegs have been 2, 12, 25 – 29, 43 – 46 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS In the best form for a while with carp showing all around the pool and nets to nearly 100lb have been caught. Straight lead and pellet or corn fished down the margins have been the tactics for fish to 17lb. Good nets of skimmers are also being caught with bags to 40lb coming to caster or maggot fished short on the pole with the high bank area best for silver catches.

LITTLE GEARYS A little more consistent this week with decent nets to 70lb being caught and good back up weights from all around the pool. Maggot, caster or worm have been the top baits fished shallow at 10 – 14 metres or down the margins later in the day. Maggot feeder also working well.

GRATUITIES Still very clear and making it quite difficult but some decent catches of carp are coming to bread or corn fished tight up to the island on waggler or bomb. Mixed nets of skimmers, roach, perch and the odd tench or carp are coming to worm/caster or maggot fished down the middle.

WILLOW Pegs 1 – 5 have been the most consistent where fishing to the island with pellet feeder or a waggler with pellet or punched bread is catching carp in the 2 – 5lb bracket and F1s to 3lb. Pole fished pellet or maggot is also catching F1s and skimmers fished at 10 – 13 metres.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) F1s, ide, carp and skimmers are making up the better catches with long pole and maggot or worm/caster working best. The pegs on the far side from 5 – 16 have been best.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Still fishing a little hard with nets to around 30lb but this is still a lot of fish as the F1s are around 8oz – 1lb mark. Pole fished pellet or maggot have been the best and long to the far bank is the best way to fish.
