REPORT

MOLANDS    Generally fishing better this week with lots of 30 – 40lb weights in matches and winning weights to over 60lb.  Method or pellet feeder fished up to the island with polony, meat, mini boilies or pellet on the hook has been working well for carp to 10lb.  Long pole with pellet or chopped worm and caster is also producing plenty of fish.  Best areas have been 2 – 4, 10 – 12, 17 – 20, 29 – 32, 42 – 46 and 57 – 60.

GEARYS   Some cracking bags of carp being caught by pleasure anglers.  Bernie Ward of Sheldon caught 12 fish from 7 – 9lb on expander pellet on the pole from peg 25 and added about 30lb of skimmers for good measure.  Match weights to over 90lb were recorded this week and the best tactics have been method feeder with meat on the hook or long pole with pellet or chopped worm and caster.  Top pegs are 9 – 15 on the high bank, 16 – 19, 25, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    Still the most consistent pool on the fishery with fish being caught from all areas to a variety of tactics.  Method feeder fished tight up to the island with small pellet, meat or white boilies on the hook and long pole with pellet or caster fished shallow have been the best approach.  Fishing all around but the pick of the pegs are
7 – 11 and 17 – 21.

GRATUITIES    Much improved this week with carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket and tench to 4lb making up the bulk of catches.  Pole fished meat or pellet or a small method/pellet feeder has been the best tactic.  Pegs 1, 6, 8 – 11 and 15 have been in the best form.

ANNIVERSARIES    This pool is in good form with mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, small carp and tench coming to pellet or chopped worm and caster.  The bigger carp are showing on the early pegs with 1 – 3 producing fish to 15lb with meat or corn accounting for the better fish.

WILLOW    Always very popular, Willow has fished well this week with lots of carp in the 1 – 3lb bracket along with a few bigger fish up to 10lb.  F1’s, tench and skimmers are also showing in numbers.  The best tactic has been to fish a small method feeder with meat or pellet on the hook tight to the island.  Best pegs have been 2, 5, 6, 9 and 11.

SIBLINGS    Plenty of silver fish coming out to pellet or caster fished over ground bait with bream to 3lb, tench and crucians coming to this.  The best area for carp has been around the reed beds at the top end of the pool and corn or meat has accounted for fish to 12lb this week.
