REPORT

MOLANDS   In good form through the week with the milder conditions at the start of the week really putting the fish on the feed.  There were decent nets of bream, skimmers, roach and tench on pole fished pellet or caster with the pegs from the Scarecrow Point in the forties through to the fifties.  The carp have been coming out on pegs 2, 19 – 21, 45 – 48 and 56 – 60 with fish to 15lb reported and boilies or pellet have provided the best action.Icy conditions slowed sport at the weekend.

GEARYS    Gearys is still difficult but signs of improvement this week with nets of skimmers, tench, brown goldfish and the odd carp to double figures.  The top tactics are either long pole and pellet or ground bait feeder with caster, maggot or pinkie.  The best areas have been around the high bank from pegs 7 – 15 and along the back bank on
30 – 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   The most consistent pool on the fishery at the moment with pleasure catches to over 40lb and match weights to over nearly 30lb.  F1 carp, skimmers, roach and tench are going well to pole fished pellet, corn or maggot and the waggler with pellet or bread also scoring well.  The straights on either side are best with pegs 7 – 14 and 25 – 30 in good form.

SIBLINGS   Good nets of roach to 1lb and skimmers on float fished maggot or caster with pleasure nets to 20lb reported this week.  The pegs at the deeper end from 10 – 15 have been fishing well.

WILLOW   The reed beds on 5 and 6 have been best for carp with catches of up to 20 fish to 5lb on pole fished pellet.  Around the rest of the pool skimmers and roach are giving good sport to soft pellet or caster with a fish a chuck on most pegs.

RIVER BLYTHE   The river has been in perfect condition this week and decent nets of chub, roach and dace have been caught on float fished maggot or caster.  The bigger chub with fish to 4lb have been taken on bread or worm.
