REPORT

MOLANDS   Molands is still very patchy at the moment with some areas fishing well and others not so good.  The warmer weather at the weekend also saw a few fish spawning again.  Match weights to over 80lb were caught with carp providing the better catches and fish to double figures have featured in nets.  Worm, pellet or meat fished over ground bait down the margins is the best tactic at the moment with pellet feeder fished up  to the island also working reasonably well.  Top pegs are 2 – 4, 8, 12, 17, 19 – 28, 42 – 54 and 58 – 60.

GEARYS    Gearys has been fishing very well late afternoons and evenings but can be frustrating hard through the day.  Ian Keywood had 129lb in Tuesday’s evening match with bomb and 8mm pellet accounting for fish to 13lb on peg 9.  Carp to 18lb have been caught by pleasure anglers with a high proportion of carp caught now into double figures.  Corn, meat or worm fished down the margins is a good tactic as well as method with boilies or dead maggot.  Top pegs 7, 9, 12, 19 – 29 and 31.

LITTLE GEARYS   This is definitely the most consistent pool at the moment with F1’s, skimmers, crucians and carp showing all around.  Match weights to over 80lb but good back up weights as well.  Pole and banded hard pellet has been the best tactic in the day and corn down the edge is providing good nets as well.  Top pegs 1, 5, 7 – 12, 19 and

25 – 27.

GRATUITIES   Grats has been a little harder than of late with the far side on pegs 9 – 15 fishing best.  Pole fished pellet, caster or worm is catching plenty of crucians, small carp and tench to 4lb.

WILLOW   Fishing tight up to the island on Willow with a pellet feeder or on the pegs where you can, long pole right across.  F1’s and carp from 1 – 3lb are providing the bulk of the action but a few carp from 6 – 12lb are also showing.  Best pegs 1, 3, 5, 8 and 12.

ANNIVERSARIES   Good nets of skimmers and crucians along with the odd bonus carp and tench to 4lb on float fished corn, pellet or caster.  Carp anglers fishing bigger baits such as meat or boilies have caught a few doubles this week with the best reported, a 17lb 8oz mirror.  Best pegs are at the far end from 1 – 6 or 21 – 23.
