REPORT

MOLANDS    A much improved week with some of the largest catches of the year so far.  F1’s and carp are providing the bulk of the catches with weights in over 100lb in matches.  The bigger carp are coming to the straight lead and pellet or waggler and pellet fished up to the island.  F1’s to 4lb are going well on a small pellet feed or method feeder fished about 3 metres short of the island with meat, polony and 4mm expander on the hook.  Best pegs are 2 – 8, 12, 19, 25, 31 – 33, 44 – 48 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS    Like all the pools, Gearys improved this week and there were some impressive bags of carp and bream caught.  There were match weights to over 90lb with 60lb+ needed to frame and pleasure anglers reporting much bigger bags.  Pole fished caster or expander pellet over ground bait is accounting for the skimmers and straight lead with pellet or method feeder with meat/pellet are best for carp.  Top pegs are 6 – 9, 11, 15, 19 – 21, 29, 31 – 33 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    Little Gearys has been excellent this week with match weights to 100lb+ and a good back up of F1’s up to 5lb, carp to 8lb and skimmers making up the catches.  Pole fished pellet or caster fished shallow is working well or a small method feeder fished tight up to the island with polony, punched bread or pellet on the hook.  The pool is fishing well all around with the hot pegs 1, 7, 9 – 17, 21 and 26 – 29.

GRATUITIES    Tench are showing in numbers, again with fish to 5lb being caught this week.  Carp from 2 – 4lb also going well with pole fished pellet or chopped worm and caster accounting for the bigger nets.  A little waggler fished up to the island with caster, corn or banded hard pellet also providing good sport.  Best pegs 1, 4, 6, 8 -11 and 16.

ANNIVERSARIES    Fishing well for mixed nets of small carp, tench, skimmers and crucians.  Pole fished pellet or corn is working best fished tight up to the islands or any near bank feature.  A few bigger carp with fish to 16lb reported this week have been caught on dog biscuit off the top and also boilies.  Best pegs 1 – 4, 6, 10, 12, 17, 22 and 23.

WILLOW    Very popular this week with anglers enjoying good success to a variety of tactics.  Pole or float fishing corn or pellet down the middle of the pool is working well for mixed nets of skimmers, crucians and the odd carp and tench whilst feeder fishing to the island is catching the bigger carp and F1’s.  Best pegs are 1, 4, 5, 9 and 10.

SIBLINGS   The pegs on the points have been best for tench with fish to 6lb coming to corn or meat fished over micro pellets.  Mixed nets of skimmers, crucians and roach are coming to maggot or caster.  The reed beds at the top end of the pool have been best for carp with fish to double figures coming to boilies or meat fished tight up to the reeds.
