REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing improved as the week went on with F1’s showing on lots of pegs by the weekend. Carp to 15lb have featured in catches as well this week with plenty of fish in the 6 – 10lb range showing well. Pellet feeder to the island with punched bread, pellet or small pieces of meat on the hook has been working best. The fish are being caught down the margins as well with maggot or pellet catching big F1’s, particularly later in the day. Top pegs 2, 6, 13, 17, 29, 41 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS The colder nights affected sport through the week but by the weekend it was fishing better. The silver league fished on Sunday and saw good nets of skimmers being caught all around the pool with maggot over ground bait catching fish to 2lb in nets to nearly 30lb. The carp are coming to method or straight lead and bread fished out to the middle stumps.

LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to over 70lb have been caught this week with a lot of fish being caught close down the margins. Short pole with pellet, maggot or caster is the best tactic. A small pellet feeder or method feeder fished to the island is also catching plenty of fish. Top pegs 7 – 13 and 21 – 25.

GRATUITIES Plenty of carp being caught by fishing up to the island with a small pellet feeder or waggler with bread or pellet. Lots of crucians are coming to pole fished pellet or caster along with the odd tench and decent skimmers. Best pegs are 1, 4, 8, 15 and 16.

WILLOW Fishing well with good mixed nets coming to the pole with pellet or caster catching F1’s, small carp, skimmers and a few tench. The bigger carp ate starting to show down the margins with corn or maggot fished tight into the bank accounting for fish to double figures.

ANNIVERSARIES Incredible weights last week on the Vets match with three 100lb+ catches and plenty of big back up weights. Mainly F1’s between 8oz and 1½lb being caught on short pole with pellet or maggot. Best pegs have been 12 – 33 around the lawn side of the pool.

SIBLINGS A & SIBLINGS B These pools have been in great form towards the back end of the week with carp, F1’s and tench showing on both pools. Fishing the pole at four metres or across to the far side with pellet or maggot the best tactic.
