FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Decent sized carp were the highlight of the past week with numerous upper doubles caught and individual fish to 23lb were reported. Surface tactics with biscuit or oily floaters have worked well and fishing tight to the island or close in down the margins with boilies has also accounted for the bigger fish. In the matches, nets to 80lb were best with method feeder or bomb/waggler and pellet to the island or short pole with 6mm pellet were the better tactics.

GEARYS Fished a little harder this week with nets to around 100lb best in the matches. Bomb or waggler with pellet, method feeder to the middle stumps on long pole with 8mm pellet or meat has been the best approach. Carp anglers have enjoyed the best of the action, particularly in the evenings with boilies off the top with dog biscuits and fish to 20lb+ were reported using this method.

LITTLE GEARYS Although match weights to over 130lb were caught this week Little Gearys is still not in peak form. The top tactics have been method feeder with wafter or meat to the island, bomb with 8mm pellet or down the margins with 6mm pellet or dead maggot over ground bait. Pegs 5 – 13 have been in best form but decent nets are coming from other parts of the pool also.

GRATUITIES The far side has been better for carp with fish to double figures coming to waggler and pellet or feeder to the island with pellet or meat on the hook. There have been good mixed catches coming to expander or small pellet, caster or maggot with bream to 3lb, tench to 3lb, crucians and chub being caught.
.
ANNIVERSARIES The top end from pegs 1 – 8 has been the best area with carp and F1s
being caught in catches to 70lb. Waggler with 6mm pellet or long pole with caster or pellet on the deck and shallow are the better tactics. Paste or corn down the margins is worth a try later on in the day.

SIBLINGS A Fishing ok with carp to double figures, F1s to 7lb and the odd tench and decent sized skimmers coming out. Pole fished pellet fished either across or down the margins and caster shallow have been the best methods.

SIBLINGS B Good nets to over 100lb being caught with some nice carp to 15lb and plenty of F1s showing. Caster shallow or down the margins, pellet on the ‘deck’ down the middle or across to the far bank and paste short on the pole have been the best tactics.

WILLOW Fished quite hard this week with nets to around 60lb best. Peg 5 is the outstanding peg where waggler with pellet or a small feeder up to the lily pads has caught well. On the other pegs, pole fished hard pellet or caster shallow has worked best.
