FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS Although match weights were lower than last week,it has still been good on molands with many weights over the 100lb mark and some quality fish being caught including Carp to 22lb, tench to 6lb and f1s to double figures. The top tactic has been the method feeder fished tight up to the island with polony, wafter or dead reds on the hook. Pole with banded 6mm pellet at 14.5m, bomb/waggler with 8mm pellet and down the margin with corn ,pellet or dead maggots have also been working. Best areas have been pegs 2 – 12, 25-31 and 42-54.

GEARYS Match weights to 140lb have been caught and the carp seem to be well spread around the pool. Bomb with pellet has been the top tactic feeding 8mm or 6mm and fishing at around 30m but pellet waggler, method feeder and pole with 6mm pellet have also accounted for good nets.
Later in the day fishing down the margins with maggot over ground bait has caught some big fish. Carp anglers have caught fish to 24lb off the top with dog biscuit and or boilies fished over a bed of pellets or particles.

LITTLE GEARYS Nets to 100lb have been best this week but still fishing ok all around the pool. Caster shallow and long pole with banded hard pellet seem to be the top tactics but a small method feeder or bomb with pellet fished up to the island are also accounting for decent nets. Carp to 20lb have been reported by pleasure anglers fishing surface baits.

GRATUITIES Fished Quite hard this week with nets to around 40lb best. The bigger carp are coming to the island or down the margins with corn or meat. There have been some nice mixed bags of F1s, smaller carp, skimmers and crucians coming to float or pole fished expander pellet or maggot over micros down the middle of the pool.

ANNIVERSARIES Fished a little better this week with nets to 80lb + with F1s and small carp making up the better catches. Caster and pellet have been the top baits fished shallow or on the deck. Pinging 6mm pellet is also working, fishing a waggler or bomb over the top. Best areas have been on the point at the top end from pegs 1 – 8.

SIBLINGS A Was a little tougher this week with nets to around 70lb best with decent f1s and the odd carp making up the better catches. Best approach has been long pole up to the island and dead maggot fished over ground bait or micros with corn or worm also working. Shallow tactics are also working with pellet or caster fished down the middle.

SIBLINGS B Still in decent form with lots of F1s showing on all pegs and nets to over 100lb+ were recorded. Caster is still the top bait but maggot, pellet and corn have all caught plenty of fish. Best tactic is to fish close to the overhanging cover on the far bank or down the margins.

WILLOW F1s and carp producing the main action with pellet waggler or method to the island, shallow pole with pellet and down the margins with meat, corn or paste all catching. Best pegs have been 1- 5 and 10 – 13.
