FISHING REPORT

MOLANDS The cooler more overcast weather saw the fishing improve on Molands with match weights to 170lb including carp to 21lb ,f1s to 8lb and tench to 5lb. The top tactic has been the method feeder to the island with meat or small wafters on the hook but waggler/bomb with 8mm pellet and down the margins with hard pellet caster or dead maggots has also been working. Pleasure anglers have had good success surface fishing with dog biscuits or small floating boilies with lots of double figure fish showing to this.

GEARYS In terrific form this week with lots of 100lb + catches from all around the pool and carp to 23lb featuring in nets to over 200lb. The top tactics have been bomb with pellet, method feeder with wafter or meat, and down the margins with pellet, dead reds or worm over groundbait and paste. The skimmers have been showing well to pellet feeder or caster/worm on the pole and we saw nets to 40lb this week.

LITTLE GEARYS Definitely picking up with the more overcast conditions better for the f1s and nets to over 100lb were reported. Method feeder or pellet feeder to the island, shallow pole with caster or pellet and down the margins with dead reds, caster, corn or pellet have been the best tactics this week. The most consistent pegs have been 1- 12 and 21-29

GRATUITIES A small pellet/method feeder to the island with waggler or small banded pellet on the hook was the best tactic for carp with fish from 3 – 6lb coming to this. There were bigger samples caught off the top with fish to 15lb taken on dog biscuit. Good silvers nets coming to caster, maggot or worms fished over micro pellet or groundbait

ANNIVERSARIES The f1s fed a lot better this week with nets to 70lb coming to pole fished pellet, corn or maggot with most pegs producing decent sport. On the wider or more open pegs, bomb or waggler with 6mm pellet has been working well.

SIBLINGS A Improved again through the week with catches up to 75lb featuring carp into doble figures along with F1s to 5lb. Corn, worm or dead maggot fished tight across to the island or down the margins was the best approach with ‘mugging’ also accounting for some nice fish.

SIBLINGS B Much better this week with the carp and f1s showing well on most pegs. Shallow pellet or caster accounted for the better nets up to 70lb but fishing down the margins with pellet, worm or dead reds was also working.

WILLOW Still a little tough by its own standards, there were signs of improvement this week when fish were caught all around with carp to 8lb and F1s to 4lb being caught. Best tactics have been to fish down the margins with corn, worm or paste and even dropping a small method down the edges has worked quite well.
