REPORT

MOLANDS A new five-hour match record was had during Wednesday’s Open with Dan Tresigne catching 223lb on pole and pellet fished shallow at 13 metres and down the margins catching 90 F1s and carp on peg 2. The fishing has been good all week but slowed a little after rain at the weekend. Pole and pellet, method feeder and pellet waggler have all been accounting for plenty of fish.

GEARYS Fished well at the start of the week but the cooler weather at the weekend saw sport affected. Match weights to 100lb+ were caught but the fishing was patchy. The shallow water on peg 18 round to peg 31 were the better pegs and carp to 15lb featured with bomb and pellet/method feeder and corn down the margins catching.

LITTLE GEARYS Consistent sport this week with catches to 100lb made up mainly of F1s but plenty of carp from 6 – 10lb have been caught too. Shallow pole and pellet, down the margins with corn or paste and pellet feeder to the island have been the main tactics this week. Best pegs have been 3, 7 – 12, 21 and 25 – 29.

GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers have enjoyed good sport on Grats fishing on the top with dog mixers and bread catching carp to double figures. Mixed nets with plenty of crucians, carp and skimmers and most nets are coming to caster or maggot fished down the track.

SIBLINGS A Fished quite hard this week with nets to around 50lb best. Paste or pellet fished short at five metres has been the most productive method.

SIBLINGS B Lots of F1s in the 1 – 2lb range coming out to paste, pellet, maggot or caster. Shallow tactics and best starting long at 13 metres and then bring them close enough to catch on top.

WILLOW The fishing has been good on Willow with the fish coming to a variety of methods. Paste down the margins has accounted for the bigger carp with fish to double figures coming to that and pellet feeder or pellet waggler working well for the smaller carp and F1s.

ANNIVERSARIES Pegs 1 – 6, 10, 14 – 17 and 21 – 23 have all been in good form this week. F1s from 1 – 3lb providing the main action but carp, tench and skimmers also showing well. Best approach is shallow pole and pellet or maggot.
