REPORT

MOLANDS Molands has fished really hard this week with the brown algae affecting sport and putting the F1s off the feed. The better catches this week were made up of carp with method feeder, pellet waggler, bomb and pellet or down the edges with pellet all producing carp but not in huge numbers. Carp to 20lb have featured in pleasure catches with surface baits accounting for the bigger samples.

GEARYS The pick of the pools this week with carp showing and nets to 120lb have been caught in matches. Bomb with pellet and pole with pellet fished short and method feeder have all accounted for good nets this week. The high bank from pegs 6 – 13 has been the most consistent are but pegs 18 – 21 and 28 – 31 have shown some form.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all the pools at the moment Little Gearys has been a bit patchy. On the good days, 100lb has been needed to win the matches with pellet waggler, meat down the margins and caster fishing shallow all working well. The best areas have been pegs 5 – 11 on the far side.

SIBLINGS A Still a little tough with nets to around 50lb best this week. Carp and F1s providing the main action with pellet fished tight across to the far side the best tactic. Spraying maggot or caster is also having some success for mixed nets.

SIBLINGS B Not in its usual consistent form this week but nets to 60lb have been taken and some decent carp caught with fish to 10lb showing this week. F1s providing the bulk of the sport with pole fished maggot or caster either shallow or on the deck working.

ANNIVERSARIES Fished well through the week but sport slowed up a little at the weekend. Lots of F1s being caught on shallow tactics with a small pellet waggler or jigger with pellet accounting for nets to 70lb+.

WILLOW Carp to 15lb, F1s to 5lb, tench and crucians have featured in catches on Willow this week. The bigger carp are coming to paste, worm or meat fished down the margins. F1s and small carp are being caught on waggler/pellet or method feeder fished tight to the island.
