REPORT

MOLANDS The very changeable and stormy weather made the fishing very unpredictable with some days fishing superbly well and others a lot tougher. The midweek Open saw lots of double figure carp up to nearly 18lb caught and weights to over 160lb. The carp have been coming to bomb/pellet or waggler pellet fished tight to the island or down the edges with worm, dead maggot or caster. The F1s have come better to caster fished close in or shallow.

GEARYS Certainly picked up from the last few weeks with weights to over 100lb caught this week. Bomb with big pellets has been the top tactic for fish to 17lb. Pellet feeder or method feeder also catching a few and later in the day down the margins with worm over ground bait. Skimmer nets to 30lb have also been caught with caster/worm and expander pellet accounting for the better nets.

LITTLE GEARYS A mixed week with weights to around 90lb best in matches but pleasure anglers have caught more, particularly later in the day when the carp feed down the margins. The F1s are coming to pellet or method feeder fished up to the island and caster/pellet fished at 14.5 metres. There have been some cracking carp caught down the edges with fish to 15lb coming to worm or corn over micros.

ANNIVERSARIES Mainly F1s around the 1 – 2lb range being caught but the odd bigger carp to double figures is also featuring in catches. Pegs with a good feature seem to be providing the better action and 1 – 6, 13, 15 – 19 and 23 have been the pick of the pegs this week.

SIBLINGS A With the rain last week extra water has pushed through the Siblings pools and sport has been affected badly with weights on ‘A’ to around 40lb best. Pole and pellet or maggot fished over micros has been the best tactic.

SIBLINGS B Weights down on the previous weeks and catches to around 50lb best but F1s and carp still giving plenty of bites. Pole and pellet/maggot/caster fished tight across to start with then coming close in later in the day is the best approach.

WILLOW The most consistent pool at the moment with lots of carp being caught in the
3 – 6lb range and the odd bigger fish into double figures also coming out. F1s are also showing well along with crucians and a few tench. Pellet feeder to the island, long pole with paste or pellet and down the edges with corn, paste or bigger pellets have all been catching plenty of fish.
