REPORT

MOLANDS Still very much up and down at the moment with some excellent catches one day and then hard the next. Match weights to nearly 150lb were recorded mid-week with very good back up weights too and when it is fishing like that it can be superb. Shallow tactics working best with maggot, caster or pellet fished at 10 – 15 metres catching carp and F1s. Pellet or method feeder to the island is also catching well. Best pegs have been 2, 8, 12 – 15, 21 – 25,
41 – 46 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS Still not in the best form but weights up to 90lb have been caught. Natural baits such as maggot or caster have been working best with the better catches being caught down the margins later in the day. Bomb and pellet or pellet waggler is still catching as well but with the drop in temperatures last week it slowed a bit. Mixed nets of skimmers, roach and tench to around 30lb are being caught on long pole and expander pellet/maggot and caster.

LITTLE GEARYS Weights to over 100lb were caught through the week but a couple of cooler nights towards the weekend saw sport drop off a bit. There is definitely a switch to more natural baits such as maggot, caster and worm as the weather turns more autumnal. Maggots fished at full depth or shallow at 10 – 13 metres or down the margins the top tactic at the moment. Best pegs have been around the top end from pegs 1 – 7 and along the far side from 11 – 17.

GRATUITIES Still not in the best form with the water quite clear on Grats at the moment. Best tactics have been to fish the bomb or waggler with punched bread up to the island or with dog biscuits.

ANNIVERSARIES Catches of F1s to around 50lb has been best this week and the top end from pegs 1 – 10 have been in the best form. Pole with maggot or expander pellet over micros has been the top tactic.

WILLOW Still the most consistent pool on the fishery with good nets of carp and F1s coming from all around the pool. Waggler, pellet feeder or long pole where you can reach the island have all been productive last week and carp to over 17lb have featured in catches.

SIBLINGS A (Doughnut) The back bank from pegs 3 – 9 has been the best area where lots of F1s, ide, carp and skimmers are being caught to caster or maggot fished across to the island or down the middle track.

SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe) Although hard at the weekend, anglers fishing through the week enjoyed plenty of bites from F1s with ide, skimmers and a few bigger sized carp also being caught. Pole fished paste or pellet fished down the middle has been the best approach.
