REPORT

MOLANDS It has been a much tougher week on Molands with top weights in matches to around 100lb but there have been plenty of double figure carp being caught by pleasure anglers. With the F1s switching off it has been mainly carp caught in the matches and anglers fishing bomb with big pellet or method/pellet feeder to the island have been most successful. A few decent nets of F1s are coming to long pole and caster/pellet shallow but these are few and far between.

GEARYS Pleasure anglers are reporting catches of up to 30 fish between 5lb and 15lb coming to boilies fished at about 30 metres feeding pellets over the top and a lot of fish are coming to surface fished baits too. In the matches, bomb and pellet, method feeder and long pole with pellet, caster or worm have accounted for nets of up to and over 100lb.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all the pools last week Little Gearys was a little up and down. Nets to 100lb were caught but generally 50lb – 70lb were recorded in matches. F1s to 4lb were coming to pole fished dead maggot down the edges or long pole with pellet or caster shallow making up the better catches. Meat or corn fishing down the margins later on proved the best tactic for the bigger carp with fish to 18lb reported last week.

GRATUITIES A little slower for most of the week with mixed catches of carp, tench, skimmers, roach and perch coming to maggot or caster fishing down the track. Carp to double figures are being caught off the top with bread or dog biscuit but the more overcast conditions has seen this a little slower than previous weeks.

WILLOW In decent form with lots of F1s and carp being caught. Shallow has been best for the F1s which are coming to paste, pellet or caster and lots of carp are being caught off the top on small dog biscuits.

SIBLINGS A Still patchy but catches were definitely on the up towards the weekend. Carp, F1s, ide and skimmers were showing well to shallow maggot, caster or pellet fished down the track. On a few pegs, pellet feeder also caught well.

SIBLINGS B Lots of F1s are coming out, particularly the end of the pool pegs on 7 – 11 with pole fished pellet or maggot working well. The bigger fish were caught on pegs 1 – 3 and 17 – 18 with carp to double figures on meat or pellet.

ANNIVERSARIES Plenty of F1s are being caught from all around the pool. Pellet on the deck or shallow has been the top bait but those who fished caster/worm have also had consistent success. The top end of the pool remains the best for the bigger carp with the top pegs from 1 – 10 picking out fish to double figures on a small method/pellet feeder to the far bank with a wafter on the hook.
