FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Match weights to over 100lb were caught in the week but sport slowed down at the weekend when the high pressure made it fish very patchy. Carp to 20lb, F1s to 8lb+ and tench to 6lb featured in catches. The top tactics in matches was pole with pellet, meat or dead maggot fished down the margins or out at five metres. Bomb and pellet and method feeder also produced some good nets.

GEARYS Pleasure anglers have enjoyed the best of the action on Gearys this week with carp to over 20lb coming out and catches of up to 20 fish were reported fishing on boilies or off the top on surface baits. In the matches, nets to around 70lb were best with pole fished corn or pellet and bomb with big pellet accounting for the better nets. The best areas have been pegs 1, 9 – 13, 16 – 20 and 30 – 33.

LITTLE GEARYS Still the most prolific pool at the moment with big catches of F1s and carp being caught from all around the pool. There have been lots of tactics catching but method feeder to the island and short pole with meat, caster or pellet have been very affective. Pleasure anglers were reporting lots of double figure carp as well with surface baits accounting for fish to 18lb.

ANNIVERSARIES It has been a little tough this week with nets to around 50lb best. Carp and F1s have been the main sport but there have been plenty of silvers for those fishing maggot or caster. The better pegs have been from 10 round to 23.

WILLOW A good pool for beginners with great mixed bags coming to float fished maggot or corn. F1s and carp are showing well around the island and a small method feeder or waggler is catching fish to over 100lb.

GRATUITIES The carp have been a little more difficult but great nets of skimmers, crucians, tench and roach have been had by fishing maggot or caster down the middle of the pool. Waggler with corn or pellet fishing tight to the island or later on in the day fishing paste, corn or meat down the margins has caught carp to 15lb.

SIBLINGS A In the best form for a while with carp and F1s showing all around the pool. Fishing down the margins with corn or pellet or across to the island dobbing corn have been the best tactics. Shallow maggot or caster is also worth a go.

SIBLINGS B Fished a lot better over the last few days with nets of F1s to over 100lb, carp and ide also featuring in catches. Shallow pole with caster, maggot or pellet has been the best approach but corn down the margins is also producing decent nets.
