FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Starting to show signs of improvement with the F1s starting to feed and in the matches and nets to 100lb were caught this week. Method feeder to the island with wafter, small pellet or dead maggot on the hook, pole fished pellet or caster shallow and down the margins with meat or pellet have been the top tactics in the matches. The carp anglers have reported fish to 21lb this week with surface baits attracting a few but across to the island with fishy flavoured baits has been the best approach.

GEARYS Fished well this week with plenty of carp being caught all around the pool and also nice nets of silvers being caught. The carp are responding to bomb and pellet fished at about
30 metres, pellet or worm down the margins and a few are coming to method to the middle stumps. Carp anglers are catching on boilies fished over a PWA bag.

LITTLE GEARYS Nice and consistent with nets to around 100lb best. Method feeder to the island, long pole with caster or pellet shallow and down the margins with meat, corn or pellet fished over micros have been the successful tactics. Pleasure anglers have caught carp to 18lb off the top with dog biscuit or bread. The top pegs have been 5 – 15 but fish are being caught all around the pool.

ANNIVERSARIES Still a little patchy with nets to around 50lb but it pays to follow the wind on here with the top end pegs from 1 – 6 and 21 – 23 providing the better action and the wind has been that way for most weeks. Pellet or caster shallow, paste or pellet on deck and meat close in have been the best tactics.

GRATUITIES Carp to 15lb have been showing with plenty in the 3 – 4lb range being caught. Wafter of feeder to the island with corn or pellet has been the top tactic for carp. Nice nets of silvers are coming to maggot, soft pellet and caster fished over micros or ground baits.

WILLOW Fished better this week with nets to 80lb and F1s showing all around the pool and pole fished pellet or meat has been the best approach, A few bigger carp are being caught down the margins later in the day with fish to 17lb coming to paste, corn or worm fished over ground bait.

SIBLINGS A It has been steady on ‘A’ this week with nets to around 60lb but decent sport being had from all around the pool. Carp to 10lb and F1s to 5lb have provided the main action with corn or pellet fished across to the island or down the margins. Paste anglers have enjoyed success fishing down the middle with green swim stim on the pole working well.

SIBLINGS B In good form with nets to around 100lb which is a lot of fish with F1s from
1 – 2lb the main action. A few carp to 8lb have been caught along with the odd tench and crucians. Paste, caster shallow and meat have been the better baits at the moment.
