FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The south westerly breeze has pushed a lot of fish into the lodge end of the pool with pegs 1 – 8 and 56 – 60 producing the most consistent catches and nets in matches to 120lb. The F1s were not feeding as well as previous weeks but fish to 7lb were caught and it was the carp that produced the better catches with fish to over 20lb being caught by match and pleasure anglers. Fishing against the island was the best approach with method feeder or waggler/bomb and pellet.

GEARYS Fished a little up and down this week with the bottom end from pegs 7 – 20 and
31 – 36 in the best form. Match weights to over 100lb were caught with bomb and pellet or long pole with banded 6mm or 8mm pellet best for carp to 16lb. The pleasure anglers have caught fish to 23lb with boilies fished over spod mixes of crushed hemp or pellet.

LITTLE GEARYS Still the most consistent of the main match pools with nets to around the 100lb mark, made up of mainly of F1s but a few carp into double figures featuring in catches. Method feeder to the island, shallow waggler, bomb and bread/pellet or down the margins with dead maggot over ground bait were all winning tactics this week. Pegs 5 – 15 and 23 – 29 were the better areas.

GRATUITIES The far side saw the better carp catches with plenty of fish from 3 – 10lb being caught on shallow waggler with pellet or a method feeder to the island accounting for the better nets. Some lovely silver fish nets coming to caster or maggot fished over ground bait with quality roach, skimmers and crucians and tench featuring.

ANNIVERSARIES Steady this week with nets of F1s to 60lb caught mainly on the pole with maggot, caster or pellet on the deck and shallow. There were some bigger carp showed this week with fish to 18lb coming to paste or corn fished up to the trees on pegs 1 – 4 and 21 – 23.

WILLOW Very popular this week with lots of anglers enjoying decent sport from the F1s and carp mainly but plenty of silvers also showing. Paste or corn fished close into the margins have accounted for the better carp with plenty of fish into double figures being caught and shallow pole with pellet or caster was best for the F1s.

SIBLINGS A Nets to 70lb were reported with some quality carp showing at the moment and fish to 15lb being caught. Pellet or corn fished tight to the island or paste, corn or maggot down the near margins have worked best. Pegs 9 – 15 have been the most consistent area this week.

SIBLINGS B Steady if not spectacular fishing with lots of catches in the 40 – 60lb range coming from all over the pool. Maggot, caster and pellet fished on the deck or shallow at 13 metres or close in has seen the best catches.
