FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS Fished really well with the mild weather for much of the week but the colder conditions on Sunday saw sport dip. Big F1s from 3 – 6lb, carp to 20lb, tench to 6lb and bream to 5lb have all featured in catches this week and nets to over 80lb have been caught by pleasure anglers and in matches. The bigger carp are coming to bomb with bread punch, boilies or 8mm pellet fished tight to the island. Pole with banded hard pellet fished out at 13 metres to 16 metres has been really good for F1s and a few small sized carp. There have been plenty of bites to be had from silvers and F1s if you fish maggot as an alternative.
GEARYS A new stocking of carp from 1 – 3lb has seen the number of carp being caught increase with these fish coming to pellet on the pole or a small pellet feeder and they are spread around the pool at the moment. There were some bigger carp caught to 18lb with the carp fishermen using boilies with a PVA bag out to the middle stumps. Great silver sport last week with nets to 45lb mainly made up of skimmers but some quality roach and the odd tench and crucians with pole fished caster or maggot over ground bait.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a lot tougher this week with the colour dropping out. Maggot has been the top bait fished out at 13 metres or on a small maggot feeder. Hard or expander pellet is also producing a few fish on the long pole or waggler up to the island and the bigger carp are coming out to this with fish to 18lb being caught.
ANNIVERSARIES The middle area has been best with pegs 6 and 16 – 23 producing the top catches.with the fish shoaling on the more open areas. Maggot feeder or long pole with maggot or pellet has been the best approach.
SIBLINGS A The water is very clear but some decent carp to double figures and F1s are still being caught. Dobbing bread to the island or around your pegs has been the top tactic. Feeding maggot or expanders down the middle is catching F1s particularly later in the day and they start to come on after 2pm.
SIBLINGS B A little slower this week with nets to around 35lb best. Dobbing bread or pellet all around the pegs has been the most effective approach but maggot or pellet at five metres or tighter across has also been working.
GRATUITIES The carp are coming to waggler fished to the island with banded pellet or corn or the bomb with bread on the hook has also accounted for a few fish. There have been lots of silver fish to be had on the pole with expander pellet, maggot or caster fished on the waggler or pole.
WILLOW Nets to around 40lb best this week with carp, F1s and skimmers providing the main action. Dobbing bread across to the island on the pegs you can reach has worked well and pole fished pellet or maggot at 5mm has also been productive.
