FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS an algal bloom has seen the fishing go really tough over the last few days with winning weights in matches dropping from 80lb + down to 30lb+.The F1s have really switched off and it has been carp and silvers making up the better nets. Method or pellet feeder ,waggler and bomb with pellet all fished across to the island have been the best tactics’

GEARYS Fished a little more consistent this week with the bottom end from pegs 7 – 20 and
31 – 36 in the best form. Match weights to around 100lb were caught with bomb and pellet or method feeder with dead reds or wafters best for carp to 18lb. The pleasure anglers have caught fish to 23lb with boilies fished over spod mixes of crushed hemp or pellet.

LITTLE GEARYS weights in matches were a little lower this week but the pleasure anglers were reporting nets to the 100lb mark, made up of mainly of F1s but a few carp into double figures featuring in catches. Method feeder to the island, shallow waggler, bomb and pellet or down the margins with dead maggot over ground bait were all winning tactics this week. Pegs 5 – 15 and 23 – 29 were the better areas.

GRATUITIES The far side saw the better carp catches with plenty of fish from 3 – 10lb being caught on shallow waggler with pellet or a method feeder to the island accounting for the better nets. Some lovely silver fish nets coming to caster or maggot fished over ground bait with quality roach, skimmers and crucians and tench featuring.

ANNIVERSARIES Steady this week with nets of F1s to 50lb caught mainly on the pole with maggot, caster or pellet on the deck and shallow. There were some bigger carp showed this week with fish to 18lb coming to paste or corn fished up to the trees on pegs 1 – 4 and 21 – 23.

WILLOW Very popular this week with lots of anglers enjoying decent sport from the F1s and carp mainly but plenty of silvers also showing. Paste or corn fished close into the margins have accounted for the better carp with plenty of fish into double figures being caught and shallow pole with pellet or caster was best for the F1s.

SIBLINGS A Nets to 80lb were reported with some quality carp showing at the moment and fish to 15lb being caught. Pellet or corn fished tight to the island or paste, corn or maggot down the near margins have worked best. Pegs 9 – 15 have been the most consistent area this week.

SIBLINGS B fished a lot better this week with catches to 100lb caught by pleasure anglers. Paste has been the outstanding bait with Maggot, caster and pellet fished on the deck or shallow at 13 metres or close in also working.
