REPORT

MOLANDS Molands is in decent form this week with nets to 130lb caught in matches and fish being caught all around the pool. Carp to nearly 20lb have featured along with F1s to 7lb. Method feeder to the island with dead maggot or wafters on the hook has been the top tactic but various tactics are catching well including bomb and pellet or long pole with pellet shallow and on the ‘deck’ all catching a few.

GEARYS Bags of carp to around 70lb have been best this week but carp are showing on all areas and fish to 20lb have been caught. Pleasure anglers have had good success fishing on the top with dog biscuit. In the matches, pole with 6mm or 8mm pellet, bomb with pellet and wafter or method feeder has been the best approach.

LITTLE GEARYS The high pressure and flat calm conditions through the week saw sport a little a slow but improved as the weather changed at the weekend. Nets to around 100lb in matches were best and method feeder to the island, long pole with pellet or caster and down the margins with pellet or meat are all accounting for decent nets.

SIBLINGS A Nets to around 70lb have been caught this week. Fishing tight across to the island has produced the most carp with corn, maggot or pellet fished over micros or ground bait. Pleasure anglers have found fishing short at five metres, particularly later in the day, has been the best tactic.

SIBLINGS B Really improved this week with nets to over 100lb mainly made up of F1s but some decent carp are coming out too. Maggot or caster has been the best approach catching mostly shallow and pellet fishing short is also working well.

GRATUITIES Plenty of carp in the 3 – 6lb range are being caught off the top or across to the island and a small pellet feeder with expander or a small wafter on the hook has been the best approach. Plenty of skimmers and crucians are being caught on caster or maggot.

ANNIVERSARIES There were more carp caught this week with fish to double figures showing at the top end on pegs 1 – 9. These were coming to pellet on the deck or off the top with bread or dog biscuit. Lots of F1s are being caught all around the pool with float fished corn or pellet fishing over micros working best.
