REPORT

MOLANDS There have been some cracking carp caught over the past week with lots of doubles including quite a few from 15lb – 20lb. Method feeder with wafters, bomb and pellet or boilies fished tight to the island have accounted for the majority of the bigger fish. In the matches, nets to over 150lb have been recorded and method/pellet feeder, bomb with 8mm pellet and caster shallow have been the best tactics.

GEARYS We have weighed in commons of 21lb and 22lb during the matches this week with pleasure anglers enjoying considerable success with the large fish too. Method feeder, bomb and pellet or shallow pole with pellet have all been working during the matches. The carp anglers have found success with 15mm boilies on the lead or catching them off the top with dog biscuit.

LITTLE GEARYS A new venue record match weight was caught in Saturday’s Open by MAP angler Aidan Mansfield who caught 128 F1s shallow on pellet and down the edges on maggot from peg 21 to record a colossal 269lb 12oz. Good sport to be had from most pegs with F1s from 2lb – 3lb feeding well and also carp to 15lb.

WILLOW In decent form through the week with the fish now hopefully finished spawning. Carp to double figures, F1s to 5lb, tench, and crucians have all featured in nets this week. Shallow pole with pellet or caster has worked best in matches but pleasure anglers have found fishing corn or meat fished over micros down the edges to be working well.

SIBLINGS A Still a little patchy with pegs 1 – 5 and 15 – 19 the most consistent with carp, F1s, ide and skimmers showing. Shallow tactics are working best with pellet, corn or maggot but meat, corn or paste down the margins also worth a try.

SIBLINGS B Good consistent sport to be had on ‘A’ this week with lots of F1s in the 1lb or 2lb range, carp to 7lb and ide being caught. Shallow pole with meat or pellet is working best fished down the middle but the fish are coming in short later in the day. Corn dobbed along the far bank has accounted for the better sized carp.

ANNIVERSARIES A little patchy than of late with nets of F1s to around 50lb best this week. Pole fished pellet fished tight to the island has been working best. Carp to 15lb have been caught off the top on floating baits.
