REPORT

MOLANDS   Lots of F1’s still showing on all areas with fish to 5½lb weighed in during matches this week.  Carp to double figures have also been caught as well.  The top tactic this week has been fishing maggot or caster short either down the first shelf or tight into the near margin.  Pellet or method fished tight up to the island is also working on some areas particularly around Scarecrow Point.  Top pegs have been 2 – 10, 13, 19, 25,

29 – 31, 43 – 49 and 56 – 60.

GEARYS   Although match weights to over 80lb have been caught this week it has been a little difficult for most on Gearys.  The carp have been shoaled up so if you are on them you are likely to have a good day with bomb and 8mm pellet accounting for the best catches.  Skimmers are showing to the pellet feeder or pole fished worm, caster and maggot.  Best pegs are 7, 9, 13, 17, 19, 27, 31 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   Like many of the pools, natural baits are scoring well with maggot or caster fished close in at 4 – 6 metres working well catching F1’s, skimmers and carp.  Weights have been a little lower this week but Little Gearys has still been very consistent giving good sport on most pegs.  The best areas have been from around pegs 13 – 21 with the wind blowing into that area all week.

GRATUITIES   The carp are showing on Grats with fish to double figures coming out this week.  A method or pellet feeder fished to the island with Polony, punched bread or dead red maggot has been the best approach.  Caster or expander pellet on the pole is also catching lots of crucians with the odd bonus tench and carp.  Top pegs are 1, 5, 8, 11 and 15.

WILLOW   Pegs 5 and 6 have been the top pegs on Willow fishing a pellet feeder up to the island catching plenty of F1’s and carp,  Pole fished pellet is also catching around the pool producing mixed nets of F1’s, skimmers and crucians.

SIBLINGS A   Carp to 10lb have been caught this week with float fished pellet or maggot accounting for the better catches.  Fishing short up to half way or down to the next peg has been producing nets of carp to 50lb.  Pegs 1 – 6 and 15 – 17 have been the best areas.

SIBLINGS B   Fishing very well with lots of carp, tench and F1’s coming to simple float fishing tactics.  Pellet and maggot have been the top baits and pegs 7 – 11 the best area.

FIRST BAY/REEDY BAY/ALDER   These small pools come into their own during the colder weather as these areas are all sheltered and provide lots of bites.  F1’s, carp and lots of silvers are being caught on pellet, caster or maggot.
