FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Still fishing quite hard with the F1s not really feeding at the moment. Carp have been making up the better catches and fishing up to the island with method feeder, waggler or bomb and 8mm pellet has seen nets to around 100lb. The most consistent pegs have been 8 – 14, 29 -33 and 39 – 48.

GEARYS There were some cracking catches by pleasure anglers this week and one angler reported catching 20 double figure carp to 20lb off the top with a floating boilie from peg 21. In the matches, nets to over 100lb were caught and bomb and pellet, method feeder with wafter or down the margins with dead maggot or corn are all producing plenty of carp to high double figures. Pegs 10 – 21 have been the most consistent this week.

LITTLE GEARYS Steady this week with nets to around 90lb best but the F1s are showing all around the pool to a variety of tactics. A small method feeder to the island, long pole with pellet shallow and down the margins with meat, corn, paste or pellet have all worked well. Best areas have been pegs 3 – 12 and 23 – 30.

GRATUITIES Nice mixed fishing to be had on Gratuites this week with carp to double figures, tench, small F1s, skimmers and roach showing well. Pole fished caster or soft pellet fished over micros or ground bait has worked well for mixed nets. The bigger carp are coming to shallow or surface tactics.

ANNIVERSARIES F1s to 6lb showing all around the pool and nets to 60lb have been common this week. Pole fished paste, pellet or caster on the deck or shallow and on the wider areas, a small pellet feeder has been successful. Best pegs have been 1 – 6, 10, 17 and 21 – 23.

WILLOW Very good this week with the Shimano team teaching beginners for the National Fishing month event from Wednesday to Friday and all the people taking part enjoyed catching lots of carp, F1s and silver fish. Feeder to the island, pole with maggot, caster, pellet or paste and waggler with big pellets have all worked well.

SIBLINGS A Nets to 60lb made up of carp and F1s were caught on paste, pellet or corn fished across to the island or down the margins. The best pegs have been 13 to 19.

SIBLINGS B The pool to fish if you want plenty of bites with F1s from 1 – 3lb making up the bulk of catches but carp, ide and skimmers also showing. Paste, pellet, caster and maggot have all accounted for plenty of fish down the margins or across to the far bank.
