FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS Sport improved through the week with some big catches and some really nice carp caught as well. Match weights to nearly 200lb with the F1s starting to feed well and they are coming to shallow tactics with pellet or caster fished at 14 metres on the jigger float or normal shallow tactics. The biggest carp reported of the week was a 23lb common caught from peg 58 by Max Stroud of Nuneaton. There have been lots of carp into double figures coming to surface tactics or on the bomb with boilies fished out to the island.

GEARYS During the more overcast days the carp were feeding well with nets in the matches to over 100lb and there have been plenty of anglers reporting catches of 30+ fish to 20lb. Bomb with pellet or boilies and pole fished 6mm pellet or boilies were the best tactics. On the brighter days, the fish were more difficult to catch with mugging or surface baits working best. The shallow water from pegs 19 – 30 has been the most consistent area this week.

LITTLE GEARYS Really improved this week with plenty of carp into double figures and F1s to 7lb being caught. Shallow tactics have been best with pellet or caster fished long on the pole with nets to 100lb. Waggler with pellet fished tight up to the island has been good for carp in the matches as well. Best pegs have been at the bottom end from 15 round to 25.

GRATUITIES Some good nets of carp coming off the top on dog biscuit or bread with fish to 15lb reported. The far side has been the better bank on pegs 9 – 15 and plenty of anglers have caught on small feeders or waggler to the island with corn or pellet on the hook.

ANNIVERSARIES A little tougher this week with nets to 60lb best and the fish are showing well on only a few pegs with 1, 2, 6, 10, 17 and 23 the favourites at the moment. Catches have been made up mainly of F1s from 1 – 4lb and are coming to pellet or corn fished on the pole.

WILLOW A little up and down this week with the weather warming up considerably. Fish were spawning at the start of the week and this made it difficult but improved as the week went on. Waggler or feeder to the island has worked best with shallow pellet starting to pick up and it fished better.

SIBLINGS A Fished really hard this week with nets to around 30lb best. Shallow maggot or pellet has been the most productive approach for carp and F1s. Fishing down the margins in the evenings has also picked out a few better carp.

SIBLINGS B A little slower than of late with nets to around 50lb best made up mainly of F1s but a few nice carp up to 10lb have also featured. Maggot, meat or paste fished down the middle has been working best.
