REPORT

MOLANDS The pools were frozen over for a few days and anglers had to break ice early in the week then as it thawed out at the weekend the fishing was difficult. Catches to 30lb were best with pole fished maggot, pinkies or expander pellet accounting for F1’s to 3lb. Nets of roach and skimmers to double figures also being caught on some areas with similar tactics best.

GEARYS Despite being frozen for part of the week the carp have been showing a little better this week with nets to 30lb best compiling of four or five fish. Bomb with orange waggler seems to be the most productive tactic producing fish to double figures. Decent nets of skimmers to around 20lb have also been caught this week with the high bank the most consistent area and pole fished with maggot, caster or pinkies over ground bait has been working.

LITTLE GEARYS One day the far side is the best bet and the next the car park bank is better. Nets to 40lb of F1’s to 4lb have been the best catches with pole fished expander pellet and maggot or the maggot feeder fished right across have been the best tactics.

GRATUITIES Carp were showing before the ice came with bread dobbed down the margins or the corner pegs producing fish to 8lb. Good silver fish sport being had on Grats too with roach, skimmers, crucians and the odd tench coming out to pole fished pinkies or maggot.
WILLOW Pole fished pellet or maggot is catching plenty of skimmers and a few F1’s. The odd carp coming to bread dobbed down the edges or up to the island and the pegs that can be reached by the pole.

ANNIVERSARIES The top end of the pool is still best with nets of F1’s to 30lb being caught on pegs 2 – 4. Some decent sized bream still being caught as well with fish to 4lb coming to pellet or maggot.

SIBLINGS A & B Both pools have been very patchy this week with nets of F1’s to 15lb best with the odd bigger carp being caught. Pole fished maggot or punched bread has been the best tactic on both pools.
