FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 13/4/14

Last week 122 rods caught 507 fish for an average of 4.15.

It was another good week on the fishery with all the pools providing good sport at the moment.

The best fish of the week was an 8lb rainbow caught by Derek Bevan of Birmingham who was fishing from a boat on the Hall Pool and this was the best of a seven fish catch and they came to GRHE Nymphs and Diawl Bach fished on a floating line.

On the Day Ticket water Cocks Close, Malc Randle of Bedworth caught seven fish to 6lb 8oz using a mixture of Lures on an intermediate line.  Fishery stalwart Dave Bratby of Birmingham caught and returned 11 fish to 6lb from the bank of Cocks Close drifting small Buzzers around in the breeze on a floating line.

On the Park Meadow pool, Andy Jones of Tamworth used two tickets to catch ten fish in total and these fell to Buzzers fished on a floating line.  Paul Reay of Birmingham fished small black Buzzers from a boat on Great Pool to tempt seven fish to 4lb.

Floating lines with small Nymphs or Buzzers is the top tactic at the moment,.  GRHE, Diawl Bach, P T Nymph, black or olive Buzzers and Bloodworm have accounted for a lot of fish this week.

The best areas on the day ticket water have been the old boat jetty corner, the high bank and the wires bank.  On the Great Pool, the hotspots are between the boat jetty and middle island but fish are moving on most areas.  The Hall Pool is fishing well around the Cattle Drink and Dam Wall
