Here is the first picture of the potential crucian carp record caught from Gold Valley lake by Duncan Charman’s dad Tony…

The fish weighed in at 5lb 3oz 8dr and careful checking of scale count and identification factors suggest it could well be a true crucian.

A scale has been sent to the Environment Agency and if it comes back as being a true crucian and not a hybrid, record claim will be made.

The existing crucian carp record stands a 4lb 9oz – a fish caught by Martin Bowler. It’s possible that this fish is from the same strain.

The catch was filmed by the Tight Lines cameras and also by Coarse And Match Fishing Monthly and a report will appear in the video magazine at www.coarseandmatchfishing.com .
