THE CLEVER CLAW

A pole and rod support, with a unique and patented operation, making long pole holding and feeding much easier and more efficient for anglers at all levels.

How to use the Clever Claw

  • Across the legs with the Clever Claw mounted on bankstick, from a bracket on box leg is the equivalent to holding on the elbow but with advantage of ‘hands free’.
  • With a front rest for ‘laying on’ techniques, it can be better not to be holding the pole. Using the pole in rests is often preferred by pleasure anglers, rather than holding.

Makes fishing and feeding long all day a piece of cake.

Recommended by Roy Marlow and Bob Nudd.

How it works

Simply turn onto the pole butt, squeeze the two parts together and let the pole butt rise up onto the underside of the claw.
The upward pressure of the pole keeps the four teeth locked leaving you totally ‘hands free’.
When you want to release your pole simply push down on the butt of the pole and a stainless steel spring pushes the claw apart and round leaving the pole completely free.

Advantages

  • Fish long heavy pole all day with ease.
  • Feed regularly with ease and more accuracy.
  • Brings you closer to the competition that can hold and feed with ease.
  • Hands free so can carry out other tasks.
  • Strike with the knee if hands occupied.
  • Quick to change height and position to fish different swim or length of pole.
  • Have pole out the back of the claw as no sliding out or ducking down to release the pole necessary.
  • Greatly reduces fatigue and injuries that regular long pole anglers complain about.

3 P-A-R SYSTEM

A new range of fishing reels incorporating a brand new feature that automatically disengages the anti-reverse lever.

Revolutionising the fixed spool reel market
Retailers will soon be stocking these brand new Okuma reels – the first reels to incorporate the 3 P-A-R (three point anti-reverse) mechanism.

Keen and experienced anglers will immediately understand the great benefit of not needing to continually ‘finger the rotor’ or struggle to release the anti-reverse lever, to pay line when not wanting to rely on the drag setting.

Until now there was only two ways of stopping the reel handle ‘back spinning’ on a sudden take or when you strike – and both have their disadvantages:-

  • ‘Fingering the rotor’, i.e. keeping your hand over the reel seat ready to strike, using fingers to stop the rotor from ‘back spinning’.
  • Engaging the conventional ‘anti-reverse lever’ preventing the reel ‘back spinning’ can cause a problem when you need to disengage the ‘anti-reverse lever’ quickly on a sudden take to allow ‘back wind’ to give the fish some line.

The new 3 P-A-R system is on the Okuma Payback…

… and on the Okuma Sequel.

Now we have 3 P-A-R…

This major technological advancement originally designed by Real Ideas, has now been developed and incorporated into reels by market leaders Okuma offering a third choice to the angler.

This new feature when employed, offers the benefit of automatically releasing the anti-reverse lever with a slightest forward rotation of the reel handle.

Anti reverse off.

The new 3 P-A-R setting which disengages the anti reverse with a simple alight turn of the handle forward.

Anti reverse on.
