Pete fished the pole and pellet out at 13m on two lines feeding micros he was off to a good start landing 8 carp in the first hour then 20 more -8lb in the next four hours putting a total of 83lb 9oz on the scales.In second Sheffield’s Jonathan Turton fished the pole and pellet out at 16m catching carp – 6lb steady all match weighing in 80lb 8oz.

Only the top two got into any fish with fishery boss Mick Langton finishing well in front, drawn at peg 32 he fished the pole out at 13 + 16mWith 4mm pellet on the hook feeding very few micros landing 24 carp – 7lb and 4 bream to 4lb and weighing in a creditable 89lb 8oz. In second place Pete fished the pole and pellet tight to the island at peg 45 landing his biggest carp going 11lb on his first put in then followed by 19 others – 6lb.

A very hard frost with ice in the margins made it hard for most, but John Urrity kept warm by casting the waggler and maggot to the middle of the lake loose feeding 4 maggots every cast he put 18lb 5oz of small roach, perch and skimmers on the scales to easily take top spot.
