Roger drew peg 23 and fished the pole and corn at 16m on the edge of a big shoal of carp landing 10 fish in the first hour and 9 more – 9lb later in the match putting a creditable 115lb 1oz on the scales. In second place Pete fished the pole and corn at peg 31 landing 25 carp – 6lb.

A massive white over frost at the start of the match the temp at the draw was minus 1and then a flat calm sunny day made it hard for all, John Holmes came out top fishing the pole and maggot over groundbait landing a mixed net of silvers and weighing in the only double figure net on the day 11lb 1oz.
