TSFSC’s own ‘Hayling Angler’ won First Prize in the ‘Tightlines’ Photographic Competition Final as announced on Sky Sports 2 last Friday 10th March.
Each monthly winner was judged 50% by a team of specialist sports photographers and 50% by audience phone-in.
‘H.A.’S entry, which won last August’s monthly competition starred Joshua (aged 12), mesmerised by his first smoothhound caught in the Langstone Harbour Juniors Boat Festival. Keith Arthur, programme host said that an instant either side of the image captured would not have had the same impact.
Joshua, from Southampton returned the mini-shark alive.
Mick Rouse, Chairman of the photographic team of judges and ‘Angling Times’ Chief Photographer, described the boy’s expression as ‘priceless’!
‘H.A.’ polled 27.5% of the votes beating second place by more than a clear 10%.
The prize was £100.
