This week Keith will be joined by match angler and five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne. The England International is undoubtedly one of the greats of the sport and he’ll have plenty of good advice to help you improve your results, especially through these tough winter months.
If there’s anything you want to ask Alan or Keith please send your question in as soon as possible via an e-mail to
We get out with Alan on the bank of his local canal where he demonstrates his approach to fishing with bloodworm and joker. Preparation is everything with this often over-complicated tactic and he shows exactly what goes into his all important groundbait and top-up mixes.
We meet a talented and dedicated group of anglers on an England Youth Fly Fishing Association get together. Andy Ford joined them on a grayling fishing trip on the River Itchen near Southampton where they receive some tuition towards honing their skills in pursuit of “The Lady of the Stream”.
Keith will also be looking at the sport you might be able to find this weekend. The winter conditions have made it a difficult time for all anglers but if you’re intent on getting out there he’ll have useful information on the best approach to take at some typical UK venues.
On Tight Lines next week the focus is on carp fishing and Keith’s guest will be Ali Hamidi. Ali is fast establishing himself as one of the country’s top all-round carpers so he’s sure to have some great tips to help your sport and hopefully to land that elusive winter whacker.

Please keep the questions, and your photos for the ‘Young Angler of the Month’ competition, coming in via e-mail to
And a reminder that if you do miss the broadcasts on Sky Sports, the whole programme will be available as a podcast after the show on Friday evening via our website –
