Packington Trout Fishery has been in top form over the last week with 116 rods accounting for 466 fish; an average of around four fish per angler.

There have been lost of hatches going on, bringing the fish on the feed and resulting in great top-water action with Buzzers, CDC Emergers and dry Olives accounting for plenty of fish. Damsels, Diawl Bach, small GRHE, Cats Whisker and orange Fritz have also been working well.
Nick Howarth accounted for the best fish of the week, a rainbow going 12lb 8oz, which fell to a small buzzer fished on a floating line on the Great Pool. Solihull’s Jon Preston had an 11lb 8oz rainbow from Cocks Close on a small black buzzer.
Best areas are the old boat jetty and high bank on Cocks Close, the middle island to the dam wall on Great Pool and the cattle drink and dam wall on Hall Pool.

The fishery is hosting a ‘Fishing for Heroes’ event on the 1st June. Anglers wishing to take part will be asked to find sponsorship to the value of £70 and the winner of the day will be invited to fish a grand final at Dever Springs later in the year.
