The Whizzo Youth Classic
Saturday August 23rd 2003
Risby Park Lakes (nr Beverley, East Yorks)

Venue website  www.risby-park.co.uk

THIS is the first year that the Youth Classic has come up north. The event that has run for over ten years is designed to draw the cream of British youth in a teams of six event consisting of two four hour matches.
Previously held at Moorlands nr Kidderminster, we felt that Risby had now matured enough to host this prestigious event which boasts some excellent cash prizes and is commentated on throughout the day on the PA system by event organisor Chris Durrant. This year all the pegs have been donated for free by Risby Park owner Anthony Clappison, so every bit of the entry goes back into the pool plus some extra from Whizzo. The event is also sponsored by Anchor Tackle and Miracle Baits and judging by the previous week’s match results, the winning team will be expecting to weigh in over 250lb.

Risby’s present five-hour match record is 96lb, taken on soft hook pellet fished on the bottom. There are no bait bans at Risby but you must use barbless hooks and anglers cannot fish floating baits or floating pole during the match..
All competitors must be under 21 on the day and entry is £20 per angler (£120 per team of six). Both 60-peg matches will be fished on Saturday 23rd August 2003 spread over the new Folly Lake and the Tench pond. The winning team will be the one with the least points overall based on sections of 10, 1 point for a win etc.
There are still a couple of team places left and anyone interested needs to contact Kevin Webster at Whizzo Groundbaits during working hours on 01482 586566 or email whizzokev@aol.com. Places cannot be reserved, payment must accompany all team bookings.
