Maurice Williams walked away with a cool £1,000 after winning the
100-peg

Barston Bowl. At the draw any peg between peg 10 and 18 was fancied and
with
Maurice drawn at peg 16 to the right of the fountain he set to work
with a
brass Kobra method feeder fished at 70 yards. Maurice had a carp first
chuck
and ended the match with nine carp for a total weight of 67lb 13oz. His
biggest carp went nearly 15lb and certainly helped him to take the
title.
Maurice was pushed all the way by Phil Hull at the next peg (15) who
weighed
in one carp short at 64lb 4oz. Phil also caught throwing a method
feeder
near the fountain and had carp to 18lb in his catch.
Drawn on peg 10 Wayne Sharman also utilised a method feeder and caught
besides a small bush on the 18th hole green. His final catch of 54lb
was
good enough for third.
